Description: If you study pro bucking bulls, Houdini has it all. Muscle, horns, and a bad attitude. Houdini is a Brangus, a cross between a Brahma and an Angus. He's not as heavy built as a Brahma, or light as an Angus. He's somewhere in the middle, the perfect athletic cross, smaller, faster, but still as sour as ever. He stands about five feet tall at the shoulders alone, and that doesn't include the traditional Brahma hump on the crest of his neck.
Like most mature bulls, he has the natural muscle build. He's wide in the shoulders and haunches, and has a large barrel, perfect for lung capacity. Unlike a cow, he's more boxy, and could almost fit into a rectangle. His legs are short, but are still covered with sinew, more at the forearm and gaskin areas, rather than the cannon area. Houdini's hooves may look small for his body, but up close they are about as large as a small plate. His front hooves are gray, while his back are a lighter pinkish color. Houdini keeps them well maintained, the better to trod on people.
Then there's the sheer size of his head. You'd swear that there was a foot of space in between his eyes, and that doesn't even include his horns! His eyes are beady, and a dark brown. The scleria around the iris gives him a wide eyed look, and under the right lighting, almost make him look blue eyed. He has a large patch of white on his face, that gives him a pale or bald faced cattle look. Almost like a mask that doesn't cover his eyes. Or like an unnatural, twisted skull shape. His black nose constantly glistens with mucous, just like a dog's.
Houdini surprisingly keeps his horns blunted. They both would curve forward if he didn't. Both horns are the same color gray as his front hooves. And one horn alone is about a foot long.
His main coat color is a dusty black, with a large spray of white on his belly, and a little bit of white around the pastern area on his back hooves.
Despite his bulky build, he's extremely athletic. He can cover a good distance over a short run, and can also kick out to where he's almost vertical. He's strong, and works out when not on duty to keep his muscles toned.
But like all creatures, Houdini has faults. Even though he's athletic, he cannot stop on a dime, or turn sharply and a dead run. When running on four legs, he has to lift his head and pick himself up to watch his target, as he has a major blind spot right in front of him because of where his eyes are. His eye sight, like most cattle, is poor. It is not sharp, and he cannot see colors as humans do, but he can detect movement much better than a human can. Because of poor eye sight, he relies more on his sense of hearing and smell, which are far better than his sight.
Personality: Let's start off with; Houdini has a short temper. It's probably equal to that of a Spanish fighting bull. And can be a disadvantage, or an advantage with his job. When on the job, or trying to get what he wants, he'll use his size and temper to intimidate others. I mean, who wouldn't be scared of a 1,200 pound horned beast bearing down on them? (Unless they were bigger or meaner.)
As funny as it sounds, Houdini is really a sweet heart under his tough guy image. He mainly shows this side of himself at home, but not out in public. When not working, he likes to be at home, playing with the kids, or working metal. He's fairly good at this talent, and it brings in a little extra income. The only thing he's not sweet to at home are humans. He has an extreme dislike of the little pests, and was raised like that. He believes that they are lower creatures, and deserve to be treated like that.
Like all animals, he has a bad habit, or two. Houdini's worst habit is lighting up a cig. He's not as heavy a smoker as he used to be, and is still attempting to quit, and has been trying to quit for the past three years. He started smoking when he was 13. Luckily, he's not gotten lung cancer, or any other super nasty illness from it, but his luck may run out one day, and he knows that. He stays away from the liquor though, unless it's a social party. And even then, he's careful about what he drinks, and how much.
Wardrobe: Houdini is normally just dressed in faded black denim jeans, that are frayed at the bottom. He uses a belt that holds them up and also holds onto whatever else he needs. Sometimes, he'll wear a black leather jacket along with the jeans, but not too often. His ears are pierced three times on each side along the pink skin. Two rings and one stud in his right ear, two studs and one ring in his left. He always carries a serrated fighting knife on his belt, and a switchblade strapped to his thigh by a simple holster.
History: Houdini grew up one of the rich kids on the block. Both of his parents had a good amount of money, and they both had a number of slaves. Most of them were set to labor around the house and in the fields, but a few were raced and fought.
Houdini was the youngest of three. And both his older siblings were males. They'd often wrestle each other, and play games like cops and robbers. As he got older, he decided he wanted to take part in the law enforcement crew.
